about our partners

Vluchtelingenwerk Vlaanderen

Vluchtelingenwerk Vlaanderen is an organization committed to helping people fleeing war, violence and persecution. We do this with approximately fifty member organizations and a lot of enthusiastic volunteers. Together we increase the pressure on policy and sensitize the general public. We work on quality reception and are active in integration. We support everyone who helps people on the run.

One of the teams within Vluchtelingenwerk, ‘Startpunt’, is a field team of volunteers who provide information to asylum seekers on a daily basis. They are present in Belgium where people ask for asylum, to give them information and answer their questions, and they staff a helpdesk where homeless asylum seekers can come for legal information and the assignment of a lawyer. Startpunt is a very diverse team of volunteers, some of whom are asylum seekers or recognized refugees themselves. This ensures that we are able to inform people in their own language.

ku leuven

YMUNE will be partnering locally with KU Leuven for this iteration of our conference! The KU Leuven Model United Nations Association (KULMUN) is a student-run organization with a passion for debate, international politics and connecting with persons of diverse opinions. Through this partnership, each committee will have Assistant Directors from KU Leuven, who will facilitate the smooth flow of debate by running the logistics in the room; each committee will also have a Director in charge of parliamentary procedure, who is a Yale student.
